The excitement of the morning began when Willy's arrow got stuck up on Grandma's roof. He was very upset because this was his new bow & arrow purchased at the Reservation yesterday. So..I scaled a tree in my pajamas in order to get on the roof and Grandma was kind enough to take photos. Thank you Grandma! Will got his arrow back and was able to continue playing Hunger Games with his brother...all was well.
Grandma packed a picnic lunch for us and I took the kids to a park close by where we intended to play in the creek but the water was too rough after the rain. So...we grabbed 2 loaves of bread and headed back to Lake Janaluska to feed the ducks. Such a perfect and free form of entertainment for my kids!!
I spent the afternoon playing Uno with the boys while Grandma took Laine to the salon to get her nails done. So spoiled! Actually we are all spoiled because Grandma made her amazing spaghetti sauce with meatballs and sausage for dinner. Yum! Then we had strawberry shortcake for dessert--double yum!! Daddy arrived this evening to spend the weekend with us and we were very happy to see him!
I have to give props to my mom because her place is small and having my 3 kids here is like handling Mr. Snuffleupagus (aka Snuffy) in a China Shop. But not once has Grandma complained. She has made us feel so warm and welcome! Thank you Grandma!!
