A Secret "Pecan Tree" Garden..

When we were at the beach house in NC for our annual vacation this year, my cousin Kate asked me to take my nieces portraits. I was honored at this request and set out to find the perfect setting. Our favorite town near the beach house is Beaufort, NC, so I Googled "Botanical Gardens in Beaufort" and what popped up was the most lovely description:

Pecan Tree Inn Gardens
The 5,000-square foot English flower and herb garden, one of the outstanding gardens on the North Carolina coast, is a "must-see" for visitors to Beaufort. The collection of flowers, shrubs and herbs includes many unusual varieties not often grown in this area. Among the plants is a crinum lily, propagated at Juniper Level Botanic Gardens and named "Pecan Tree Inn." The garden's intersecting stone paths frame a vast collection of bulbs and perennials that provide sumptuous color through most of the year.

I called the Pecan Tree Inn and spoke with their lovely Innkeeper, Ms. Sherry Huddleston. I requested permission to photograph my nieces in their garden even though we were not registered guests of the Inn. She could not have been more kind, assuring me that we were more than welcome to use the grounds for our portrait session. It was such a gift because this beautiful setting produced some of the most gorgeous photographs. Thank you Pecan Tree Inn for your kindness and generosity. I am attaching some of the photos I took in your beautiful gardens.

As you can see, the Pecan Tree Inn is a beautiful, magical place. It is housed in the elegant and historic Franklin Lodge, built around 1866 to serve as a Masonic Lodge. It is one of the most beautifully decorated and landscaped Bed & Breakfasts I have ever seen. It is walking distance to the shore, wonderful shopping and fabulous restaurants. If you get the chance to visit Beaufort, NC, The Pecan Tree Inn is the place to stay!!
